The pictures here are that of the Futurliner that Bortz owned, then was
purchased by another person and spent some time in a warehouse in Dana,
Indiana (this where Charlie Glick made forms to cast the letters for our
Futurliner) and then ended up in California. Dave Wyatt from Dana, IN provided us with the following information and pictures. We received them on March 13, 2002. I spotted this (OK it was hard to
miss) liner sitting on a low boy ready for transport a couple of years
ago. It was in Dana, IN at the time and according to the truck driver, it
was headed to a museum in California. As you can see, the tires had been
removed for transport, they are secured to the trailer. I knew a loose and
vague history and had seen one on TV in an old GM clip, but had never seen
one of these beauties in person. I was lucky to see this one as it left
town shortly after I got home that evening. It drew a crowd, even in such
a sad state. |
