The Futurliner was invited by the Minnesota Street Rod Association
to their Back to the 50's car show at the Minnesota State
Fair grounds. The show recorded nearly 12,000 cars with an estimated
125,000 spectators in attendance. |
From the looks of the picture above one would think that the
Futurliner is posing for a photo-op under the entrance to the Fair
Grounds but it was actually parked there to avoid a hail-storm! |
The clouds parted, the sun came out and people began checking out
the Futurliner. On days like it this, when people are drawn to the
Futurliner like it was a magnet, it makes it all worth while
to the volunteers who sacrifice their time to travel with it and
tell it's history. |

One can only imagine that the fellow
with the cell phone up to his ear is trying to describe the
Futurliner to a friend. |
Sometimes I get photos via e-mail to put
on the web site and other times I get them in an envelope. This
batch came in an envelope and on the back of this picture is written
"Pedal Car, Auburn, $10,000". I would interpret that to mean that
someone built this Futurliner Pedal Car and it is at NATMUS in
Auburn, IN and is valued at $10,000. If you look carefully you can
see what appears to be a seat inside the pedal car but I'm not sure
where your head would go. We'll have to ask for more information
about this. |
