Don Mayton does some hand polishing on the door.

Last week the upper portion of the left lower door was painted as
well as the left front corner. Today Fred Carpenter, Ron Elzinga and
Art Meidema worked at wet sanding this area and then buffing it.
Later Fred moved to the right side. This is tedious work and hard on
the shoulders.

Wally Snow is doing our electrical wiring. He has to write his own
wiring manual. He and his crew of Jeff and Paul continued to check
out the vehicle wiring. The running lights are all working, the turn
signals are all checked out as well as the brake lights. However it
has been determined that more circuits must be separated due to the
high ampere draw of all the running lights.

Wes Myrick and Don Feutz drill a
strip for the cockpit window area.
This past Wednesday Voss Glass of Grand Rapids, Michigan
volunteered to install the front windshield. They spent two hours
measuring everything and looking at their options as far as weather
seals. They also asked us to make some preparations.
Today, the crew of Ed, Wes, and Don F. worked on
the preparations. They had to fabricate and install a band of
stainless steel around the base of where the windshield is mounted
for the rubber weather seal to be fastened to. They also had to
drill all the holes for the aluminum trim piece that is installed
over this weather seal after the windshield is installed.
Ron took on the task of repairing and buffing
this aluminum trim. This trim is in two sections over 90 inches
long.
