This is one of the more remarkable features of the Futurliner --
dual front wheels. We ran across an article in Wheels of Time
Jan.-Feb 1988 that mentions an all-wheel drive Ford equipped with
dual front wheels by Differential Wheel Corp. It was marketed to
greatly increase tire life and gas mileage. |
The drop-down step is completed for ease of entry into the driver's
compartment.

Del Carpenter works on setting up the engine. He still has to hook
up the radiator hoses but he says he is getting close to seeing it run and move under its own power.
